"Hand of God", ready for fight..."Hand of God", ready for fight... Diego Maradona's secret weapon to bring the World Cup to Argentina has arrived in South Africa- his grandson Benjamin.

* Hot Pagess

The trip was not without its difficulties however as on arriving the passengers had to wait an hour on the runway staying in the plane, as officials checked the flight list for potential barra brava. Maradona is famously superstitious, and it is not unusual to see him prowling the dugout with rosary beads in hand as he manages the Seleccion.     Bookmark and Share

Recently though he took it a step further- in a press conference he referred to his grandson as a 'cabala'- good luck charm in Argentine Spanish. And with his family in the stands for the first game, Benjamin included, confidence is sure to be sky-high for at least one member of the Argentine World Cup camp.

Diego Maradona seems to have settled on starting strikers Carlos Tevez, Lionel Messi and Gonzalo Higuain for the team's World Cup opener against Nigeria on Saturday. Maradona is widely expected to start the following team: Sergio Romero in goal behind defenders Gabriel Heinze, Martin Demichelis and Walter Samuel. The midfield will be Jonas Gutierrez, Angel Di Maria, Mascherano and Juan Sebastian Veron. They will be joined by the three strikers.
Argentina is the favorite to win Group B, which also includes Greece and South Korea.

WHAT A TRAINING!
Don't be surprised if a relaxed Argentina side get off to a fast start... Also don't be surprised if half the players find it difficult to sit down for the next few days.

After a little training session intra-squad match, Maradona let the winning side fire shots at the losing side's rears and even bent over for a bit of punishment himself. Granted, this activity isn't terribly unusual and can be spotted at training grounds everywhere, but it's not the type of thing you typically see days before playing in the World Cup.
