CHECKERED FLAG: Denny Hamlin
grabs the AAA Texas 500 victory at Texas Motor Speedway and the
championship points lead. Matt Kenseth, Mark Martin, Joey Logano and
Greg Biffle round out the top five. Kevin Harvick was sixth, and Jimmie
Johnson was ninth.
Lap 334 -- WHITE FLAG: Denny Hamlin continues to lead.
Lap 333 -- Matt Kenseth got past Denny Hamlin, but then hit the wall
and lost the lead before it was official.
Lap 332 -- GREEN FLAG: Denny Hamlin and Matt Kenseth will lead the
field to green. Jimmie Johnson will restart sixth, and Kevin Harvick
will start 10th with two fresh tires. Greg Biffle's gear problems
caused problems for Johnson. Harvick goes three wide to try to make up
some room.
Lap 330 -- Kevin Harvick hits pit road. Eight cars stayed out,
including both Denny Hamlin and Jimmie Johnson. Harvick takes
right-side tires and is the first car off pit road.
Lap 328 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 9: Patrick Carpentier brings out the caution
in Turn 2. Denny Hamlin's lead disappears. Aric Almirola gets the free
pass.
Lap 326 -- Jimmie Johnson and Paul Menard close on Kevin Harvick in
seventh. Johnson takes the position.
Lap 324 -- Jimmie Johnson is on the high side, fighting for eighth as
he gets past both David Reutimann and Paul Menard.

Lap 308 -- Matt Kenseth is moving forward again, getting past Tony
Stewart for third.
Lap 306 -- LEAD CHANGE: Denny Hamlin is in the lead after passing Mark
Martin. Kevin Harvick is fifth after being passed by Matt Kenseth and

Lap 305 -- GREEN FLAG: Mark Martin and Tony Stewart lead the field to
green. Kevin Harvick is third, Denny Hamlin is fourth and Jimmie
Johnson is eighth. Greg Biffle is ninth after a slow stop and he said
they broke something in the transmission and doesn't have second gear.
Lap 303 -- Mark Martin and Tony Stewart stayed out, and they're scored
1-2 on the track. Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano round out
the top five as they make the call for one to go until the green drops.
Lap 302 -- The leaders hit pit road. LEAD CHANGE: Mark Martin is now in
the lead after not pitting.
• Kevin Harvick takes right side tires.
• Jimmie Johnson gets a track-bar adjustment, a half-round down, and
two tires.
• Denny Hamlin takes two tires.
• Greg Biffle wanted a slight adjustment and two tires.

Lap 274 -- Kevin Harvick has passed David Reutimann for second. He's 6

Lap 273 -- Greg Biffle continues to pull away, now leading David
Reutimann by more than 5 seconds. Jimmie Johnson is sixth, but nearly
12 seconds off the lead.
Lap 271 -- Ryan Newman is running 11th, David Ragan 12th and Jamie

Lap 263 -- Denny Hamlin is a little less than a second behind Kevin

Lap 199 -- LEAD CHANGE: Joey Logano regains the lead when Andy Lally
goes to the pits.

out for a lap when the leaders turned in.
Lap 193 -- Jeff Burton and Jeff Gordon get into fisticuffs on the
backstretch after Gordon walked to where Burton was standing instead of

called for speeding off pit road. He's digitally expressing his

Busch gets off pit road before the pace car gets there, keeping him on

pits. The leaders remain the same, and Elliott Sadler picked up five
spots with his stop. Carl Edwards lost three spots.
Lap 58 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 3: The caution is back out in Texas after Sam
Hornish Jr. got into the outside wall in Turns 3 and 4. Jeff Burton
will get his lap back after that unscheduled pit stop.
Lap 56 -- Greg Biffle continues to lead, with a gap of about a second
ahead of Mark Martin.
Lap 55 -- Ryan Newman is now on pit road and is going to take four

took over the lead. He's followed by Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch, Greg

Lap 43 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 2: The caution is back out, this time for
debris.
Lap 42 -- Jimmie Johnson is up to fifth, with Mark Martin up to second.
The big mover, however, is Kyle Busch. He's up to eighth.
Lap 30 -- Denny Hamlin is up to 21st after taking four tires on his
first pit stop. He reported a slight vibration over his radio, but

Lap 24 -- Dave Blaney is on the apron with a heavily-smoking car, but
as of yet the caution has not come out.
Lap 23 -- Mark Martin moves past pole-sitter Elliott Sadler for third.
Lap 21 -- Jimmie Johnson is up to ninth now, having moved past David
Reutimann and Paul Menard. Kevin Harvick is running 21st and Denny
Hamlin 24th.
Lap 19 -- Jimmie Johnson is on the move, restarting 16th but now up to
11th after getting past Martin Truex Jr.
Lap 18 -- Carl Edwards had to back off going into Turn 3 to keep from
losing his car underneath his teammate, Greg Biffle.

Lap 13 -- The leaders are on pit road. David Ragan, Greg Biffle, Carl
Edwards and Elliott Sadler all took two tires, with air pressure
changes for Edwards and Sadler. Jimmie Johnson's team ended up with a
tire out in the infield, thanks to Paul Menard hitting it.
Lap 12 -- YELLOW FLAG NO. 1: Joe Nemechek's car is smoking and brought
out the caution.
Lap 11 -- Kurt Busch continues to slide back, now 13th after starting
sixth, and is not hiding his displeasure on his team radio.
Lap 9 -- Jeff Burton is the biggest mover in the top of the field, up
to 11th after starting 16th.
Lap 8 -- Carl Edwards is cruising along in second, behind his Roush
Fenway teammate Greg Biffle.
Lap 6 -- David Ragan has picked up a spot to fourth, and is trading
places with Elliott Sadler for that third-place spot.
Lap 5 -- Denny Hamlin has dropped two spots to 30th in the first
handful of laps.
Lap 3 -- Juan Montoya is staying steady in fourth but got loose a
little there near David Ragan.
Lap 2 -- LEAD CHANGE: Greg Biffle takes the lead on Lap 1, but Elliott
Sadler isn't ready to give up quite yet.
3:17 p.m. ET -- GREEN FLAG: Elliott Sadler and Greg Biffle lead the
pack to the start/finish line.
3:09 p.m. ET -- Trevor Bayne will start his first Cup race from the
back of the field. His No. 21 Ford will start in the rear of the pack
for changing transmissions.
3:08 p.m. ET -- Country singer Lee Ann Womack gives the most famous
words in racing: "Gentlemen, start your engines!"
3:03 p.m. ET -- Flyover by a B-52 from the 93rd Bomb Squadron,
Barksdale AFB.
3:01 p.m. ET -- The national anthem is performed by Kelly Hansen of
Foreigner.
3 p.m. ET -- Presentation of colors by the 302nd Military Police
Company, U.S. Army, and invocation by Dr. Roger Marsh of Texas Alliance
Raceway Ministries.
